Eating like a toddler
Toddler eating is erratic by design. Appetite drops as growth slows, and a child may eat well one day and almost nothing the next while remaining perfectly healthy. Refusing a food is not permanent; new things often need many calm exposures before they are accepted, and pressure reliably makes it worse. The division that helps: you decide what is offered and when, they decide whether and how much. Eating together, without a running commentary on their plate, does more than any single strategy.
