For babysitters

Babysit for families near you

Parents in Iceland look for a babysitter they can trust. Create a profile on Vagga, we check your papers, and parents in your area can find you and send you a message.

How it works

1. Create a profile
Tell parents about yourself: your area, the ages you look after and the languages you speak.
2. We check your papers
A person at Vagga reads your document and confirms it is yours. Then the papers are deleted — we keep only the result.
3. Parents write to you
Parents who are signed in can see your profile and send you a message. Your phone number and email are never shown.

What you need

You are 18 or older.
A criminal record certificate (sakavottorð), which you can get on island.is.
Your kennitala, so we can match the certificate to you.

Your privacy

Your kennitala is never stored or shown — only a scrambled code we can check against.
Your papers are deleted as soon as they have been reviewed.
Only parents who are signed in can see your profile, and only your first name and area.

Under 18?

We don't take babysitters under 18 yet. We are working out how to do it safely, with parents' consent.
