The first two weeks at home
The first two weeks are not a smaller version of what comes later. Feeding is not established yet, sleep has no pattern, and you are recovering at the same time. Expect to feel wrung out, and expect that to be normal rather than a sign you are doing it badly. Most days are made of feeding, changing and short sleeps with no shape to them. Visitors take energy you do not have much of, so it is reasonable to limit them. If you are worried about the baby or about yourself, ask early rather than waiting to see.
