Preparing for your first midwife visit
The first appointment is longer than the ones that follow and covers more ground than you might expect: your health history, previous pregnancies, medication you take, and conditions that run in your family. Bring the name and dose of anything you take regularly, including things you would not think of as medicine. Write your questions down beforehand, because appointments move quickly and people reliably forget the one thing they meant to ask. If you have a partner coming, this is a useful one for them to attend.
