Safety around the house

The house changes the day they become mobile, and the risks shift with each new skill. Work at their height: cover sockets, secure furniture and televisions to the wall, move cleaning products and medicines up and lock them, fit stair gates, and check window restrictors. Hot drinks are one of the most common causes of serious burns at this age, so keep them well back. Water is never safe unattended, however shallow. Re-walk the house each time they learn to climb something new.
