Telling people you are pregnant

There is no correct week and no correct order. Many people wait until after the first scan, largely because an early loss is more common than most realise and they would rather not explain it. Others tell a few people immediately for exactly the same reason: they would rather not go through it alone. Work is its own decision, shaped by what you do and how safe your job feels. An older child usually needs less lead time than you think, and a very long wait can feel more confusing to them than helpful.
